Ingredient list

Ground beef

  • 500g lean ground beef

  • 2 shallots, chopped

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • Olive oil

  • 125ml dry red wine.

Napolitana sauce

  • 2 shallots, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 600g fresh Rosa tomatoes

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • Some fresh thyme

  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • Some fresh basil

  • Add later: 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)

Homemade spaghetti

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons water

Garnish

LOTS of parmesan cheese

Directions

Ground beef

  • Chop the shallots + garlic. Add both of them to the pan of simmering olive oil.

  • Then add your ground beef and season to taste. We always add some of our favourite spices, so can you.

  • Lastly add your red wine and slowly let it simmer.

Napolitana sauce

  • Chop the shallots + garlic, place this in a pan with some olive oil and your Rosa tomatoes.

  • Start adding your salt, oregano, thyme and lastly basil. Now let it simmer.

  • Season with salt + pepper.

  • Add some more fresh basil.

Sphagetti

  • In a medium sized bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the flour, add the beaten egg, and mix. Mixture should form a stiff dough. If needed, mix in 1 to 2 tablespoons water.

  • On a lightly floured surface, knead dough for 5 minutes. With a pasta machine or by hand, roll the dough out to desired thinness. Use machine or knife to cut into strips of your desired width.

  • Toss it in a bowl with some more flour to make sure they do not stick to each other. You can now let them dry to use later or start boiling them right away.
